The universe, too large for us to imagine, it spins in a never-ending revolution around itself. If you are standing still, it seems it is spinning around you. Spinning, a dizzy web of confusion.
On the other hand …
God is love. God is light. God is spirit. God is the truth. God is good. The word for God, found in the book of Genisis in original Hebrew is, “Elohim.” It is translated to God, Mighty Creator. This is who He is. When we get to know him, we learn to cherish these aspects of his character.
God speaks to us in Isaiah 48:13:
“My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them, they all stand up together.”
Although He skillfully built each atom of this universe, God is not the universe. The universe is not character, it’s matter. And here the term “matter,” is defined by the physicists. “That which has mass and occupies space.”
The universe did not create itself, it was created by God.
If the universe is at God’s command, then how can the universe, be God? God is infinitely larger, greater, more magnificent than one aspect of his creation – the universe.
Why do we have this need to be at the center of the universe?
The universe, this is a term penned by the “New-Age” movement/ spirituality. The term “universe,” is unoffensive and inclusive of all religions and faiths. Except, it is an insult to God, the Mighty Creator. It is an insult I have used, on this very blog, because I did not want to be offensive, I wanted to be inclusive, and I certainly did not want to step on anybody’s toes.
Pardon me, while I stomp on your foot to avoid you walking the wrong way.
God who loves humanity as a whole, and who can call each by his or her own name. How can this be some mystical, universe? God who, not God what …
As God was putting down the foundations of this earth, He held a special vision of you inside his perfect plan. You, who are you, if there is no Him?
Needless to say, I will no longer refer to God as the universe. It makes me cringe in fakeness. Referring to God as the universe denies who God truly is, and since my identity is found only in Him, it denies who I truly am. “The universe,” is a barrier to the very core of our authentic self.
The New-Age spirituality spun us this lie of “the universe.” It denies who God is, and then very cleverly prompts us to find out who we truly are. Spiraling us into an ever deeper hole, that lacks the fundamental truth.
“I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
(You can find the full verse in the bible in John 14 verse 6.)
Who am I?
We are a society stuck in an identity crisis. “I no longer know who I am.” Sound familiar?
It is impossible to figure out without the knowledge of who our creator is. Who would know me better than God? He who planned me before the foundations of the earth were placed, knows me better than I know myself.
This “New-Age” spirituality has seeped itself so deep into the fabric of our society, we hardly notice the impact it has on our collective psyche. It’s in the movies we watch. It’s in the music we listen to. It’s there when we read just a regular magazine. It’s found in our book stores. It’s there when we go to the gym. It’s that cool new symbol printed on our latest fashion trends. New-Age half-truths spun together from various religions, have been dropped over our eyes.
So, you are opposed to traditional tarot cards, but hey if they are “Angel cards,” well that can’t be evil, can it? I’ve recently destroyed my own deck of “Angel” tarot cards, pretty artwork and all. Why? Because things are not always what they seem. And frankly, they are offensive to God. Which means they are not good for me.
Even more than a natural father wants to keep his child from harm, our heavenly Father does the same. Or would you not get upset if your kid decided to run out into a busy road?
There is no such thing as “New-Age Christianity.” It is a web spun to deceive. But some “New-Age,” teachings have crept into some, apparently Christian teachings and churches. For example, some don’t want to acknowledge the existence of Hell. This is a cornerstone of New-Age spirituality.
Yes, God is Love. However, God is also just and righteous. I don’t need to go to church to figure that out. It’s in the bible.
The dark opposed to the light
Within “New-Age” spirituality, there is a “teaching,” about the light, which opposes the dark. This same theory also teaches that the dark sometimes poses as the light, to deceive humanity. This is referred to as the false light.
I wonder, from which this half-truth is spun? Or is it perhaps a web pulled together from various faiths? Either way, …
How do you distinguish between the real Light and the false light?
Did you know that fallen Angels can pose as Angels which have not fallen? Actually, they can pose as anything, to achieve their purpose.
2 Corinthians 11:14-15
“And no wonder, since Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. So it is no great surprise if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, but their end will correspond with their deeds.”
According to “New-Age” spirituality, the reason they do this is that there is a power battle, and they want all the energy. Energy, it’s the new buzz word. Okay, I’ve oversimplified, but that is the jest of it.
Now, I happen to know how one can distinguish between the Light and the false light. The answer can be found in, surprise, surprise, the bible. Yea, you know that book, which seems to offend so many people.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5 (NIV)
“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.” John 1:9 (NIV)
Now if you take some time to read the full chapter, (did you see, I did not just presume to grab my bible verses out of context) you will notice that the Apostel John was writing about Jesus, the Christ in this chapter.

Subsequently, the only way to know that you are not being deceived by the false light is following only the true light, Jesus.
Simple. Easy.
It’s going to change your world. But don’t take my word for it. Why not find out from the word of God?
God is God, is God. There is no one like him. He is the sovereign creator of, well the universe and everyone inside it. He is the one I trust. The universe does not revolve around me. This never-ending circle that keeps on spinning, disorientates. No, there is only one way to stop feeling so dizzy, dazed and completely out of it. Put God in the center of your universe and let him keep your whole world in place.
