FREE wisdom from the sky. What astrologers are NOT telling you about your zodiac sign!

No, that title is not clickbait. There is something they don’t want you to know. But allow me to take you on a journey of contemplation. Like the one, I go on when I study the constellations and patterns which shine so brightly. The night sky, I love staring up into the billions of lights that light it up.

The sky at night is created to be a blessing unto us. Genesis chapter one tells us that God created the stars to be “signs for seasons, for days and years.” In other words, to help us calculate time. They would also provide light upon the earth during the nighttime. They are so useful that back in the day, ships at sea could use them to navigate the vast waters. So constellations helped us explore and discover our breathtaking planet.

God called each star by name. How amazing each one, a testimony of his glory. But like all beautiful things we gotta ruin it.

And do this so that you do not lift your eyes toward heaven and observe the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of the heaven, and be led astray and bow down to them and serve them, things that Yahweh your God has allotted to all the peoples under all of the heaven.

Deu 4:19 (LEB)

But we don’t bow down to the stars. It’s not like we worship some vain Gods, which we don’t even believe exist. Right?

Have you ever wondered what life would be like if many Gods existed?

Theoretically, if many gods existed, then they would each be limited in the authority they have. They would always fight and bicker amongst each other. This would affect us lowly mortals because we would never know which God to serve. Which one has any actual power? We would live in constant uncertainty about which direction our lives should take. Chaos. This is exactly the sort of thing the ancient Greeks believed and this is what the modern zodiac, which you read, is based on.

I used to spend hours reading through Zodiac books. The horoscope would be the first thing I’d read in any magazine. At one point I got my hands on a very detailed book. It showed how to calculate your birth chart, and give you an in-depth personality analysis for each b-day of the year, all 365 of them.

Humorously, my husband likes to point out that I don’t fit in with the sign the astrologers allotted to my birthdate. I am nothing like anyone else on the same sign. My parents must have lied about my birthdate. But unfortunately (or maybe, fortunately, depending on how you’d see this) I don’t fit in with either sign next to the one I’m supposed to fit in with, either.

So what? It’s just harmless fun, right? Mildly entertaining. It’s not like you are going to use this information to figure out who to get married to, or whether to change your job or dare I say to tell you who you are?

Here is my facepalm moment! This is exactly what people use the information for, whether they do so consciously or subconsciously. And my point is? I’m getting there.

What I found by reading through pages and pages of personality descriptions was that parts of my character fit in each. The Zodiac descriptions are pretty much generic. It’s the same with your daily, weekly, and monthly horoscope.

When you read these things, you will, by a psychological phenomenon dubbed “selective attention”, remember the parts of your horoscope which fit into that day, week or month. You selectively forget all the parts of your horoscope which did not fit in with your life. You believe that these generic things apply to your life. “Oh, yea this or that I read in my horoscope.” Then you develop thought patterns. You believe things about yourself and others based on some constellation in the sky.

I’m an Aries, I should be bombastic. I’m always in two minds about a certain choice, because I’m a Gemini. Because I’m a Scorpio, I’m good at convincing people to do what I want. Some may think, I’m a water sign, I can’t be friends with a fire sign. My horoscope told me I’d meet someone today who’d turn out to be a long-term romance. Hmm, maybe it’s that dude?

And what does it benefit you? You subconsciously start making choices, which on the small scale probably don’t add up to much, but … your thought patterns will start developing into habits and habits will develop into your character. And before you know it, they have transformed you into someone you are not. It’s only your destiny at stake here! No big deal.

Do you see how it infiltrates your entire life? And they base all this on an ancient divination practice of the Greek Gods, which low and behold you don’t believe exist? There is an excellent reason that Paul refers to “spiritual forces of wickedness” in his letter to the Ephesians.

It’s not that evil powers don’t exist. It is that they do, and their principal aim is to deceive you.

“because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.”

Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)

How can you get your life’s direction from the stars? Is there not a God who created you? Who is much higher in authority than some planet up in the sky?

“Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.”

Isaia 47:13 (KJV)

The sun, moon, planets and stars have been created as a blessing unto us. They are not there to dictate what choices to make. And how dare they try to tell me who I am?

Who am I that the highest God, who calls every star by name, would also welcome me? Here I am, once a slave to the deities that astrologers base their teachings on. But the blood of Jesus has set me free from their mind control.

Stop reading your “horror” scope! The so-called Gods of ancient mythology upon which these predictions rest don’t really care about us! If you have accepted Jesus as your saviour, you should know that He is the master of the universe. It is only Jesus, who is for you, not against you.

Your question should not be who am I, but whose am I?

I am a child of God. Adopted into his family by the blood, the sacrifice of Jesus upon the cross. My adoption status is by God’s Grace alone. This means I could never earn or deserve this status. His holy scripture is the most fundamental map in my life.

Without Him, I’m at the whimsical mercy of the prince and power of the air (that is the forces of darkness). Now, why would I ever run to them (that is the forces of darkness who uses the Zodiac as a map) to give me directions in life?

I no longer belong to them. I no longer belong to this world. I belong to the living God, who created it all. Body, mind and soul, in life as in death my God (Yahweh) holds me. His unique son, Jesus, had to die a horrible death so that He can ransom me back (from them, the forces of darkness). Jesus satisfied the justice of God, by taking the punishment I deserve (because let me face it, I make many horrible mistakes or sins in my life. I fall desperately short of the standard set by Jesus). And it is all a gift, which can not be earned, a gift I receive by faith (belief).

There’s no greater love than that. God has promised that nothing in all creation will ever separate me from His love (Read Romans 8).

How about you? Do you know the one true God?
